EU Therapists & Clinicians — Parental Alienation Practitioner Directory

Schema version: 1.0 Last updated: 2026-05-27 License: CC BY 4.0 (intended for github.com/AntiAlienate/antialienate-knowledge) Region: EU (DE / FR / ES / IT / NL / BE) Scope: EU-member-state psychiatrists, psychologists (clinical / forensic / academic), psychotherapists and clinical social workers who have (a) worked PA cases as treating clinician or court-appointed expert, (b) published on PA in a peer-reviewed venue or recognised professional publication, or (c) publicly stated a sourced stance (recognition / critique / middle) on PA. Stance is sourced, not inferred.

Standards: Primary sources only — national register entries where searchable, practice / institutional website, peer-reviewed publications, court records, named press. Where a fact could not be confirmed from a public primary source it is flagged "not publicly confirmed".

Stance taxonomy: - recognition — treats parental alienation / Eltern-Kind-Entfremdung / aliénation parentale / alienazione genitoriale / ouderverstoting as a real, assessable phenomenon; operates or endorses PA-specific assessment, expert-witness or reunification work; typically PASG-aligned. - critique — argues the PA construct (especially Gardner's SAP) is operationalised against DV / coercive-control survivors (predominantly mothers and children); advocates DV/trauma-informed alternatives and tighter regulation of expert witnesses. - middle — engages both alienating-behaviour and family-violence frames; differential-diagnosis or systemic / multi-family approach; not aligned with PASG and not in the abolitionist critique camp.

Critical EU regulatory & policy context (must read before using this directory):

  • Germany (DE): Psychotherapists and physicians hold an Approbation (state licence) issued by the Land authority; psychotherapists must additionally be listed by the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung (KV) or the Psychotherapeutenkammer of the respective Land (e.g. https://www.lpk-bw.de/, https://www.ptk-berlin.de/). The 2023 BVerfG order 1 BvR 1076/23 (case-file already in /case-studies/) is the most important German constitutional ruling on the use of "Eltern-Kind-Entfremdung" framing in custody transfers — every German recognition-camp expert below must be read against that ruling.
  • France (FR): Psychiatrists are registered with the Ordre national des médecins (RPPS number, https://www.conseil-national.medecin.fr/annuaire); psychologists hold an ADELI number (now being merged into RPS at https://annuaire.sante.fr); court-appointed experts are listed on the liste des experts judiciaires of the relevant Cour d'appel (e.g. Versailles, Paris). The 2013 Cass. 1re Civ. 12-14.392 (case-file already in /case-studies/) is the leading French civil ruling cautioning against routine "SAP" findings. The 26 December 2019 circular CRIM 2019-19/H2 of the Ministry of Justice on intra-family violence is the doctrinal anchor for the French critique camp.
  • Spain (ES): Psychologists are registered with the Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos (COP) of the corresponding autonomous community (e.g. Asturias, Madrid, Cataluña); psychiatrists with the Organización Médica Colegial (OMC) provincial Colegio de Médicos. The Ministry of Equality / Delegación del Gobierno contra la Violencia de Género published the 2020 Informe del Grupo de Trabajo sobre SAP (https://violenciagenero.igualdad.gob.es/wp-content/uploads/ALIENACIONPARENTAL_cap2_lib7.pdf), which institutionally rejects SAP as a clinical construct. The 2017 STS 519/2017 (case-file already in /case-studies/) is the leading Spanish Supreme Court ruling rejecting reliance on SAP without independent evidence.
  • Italy (IT): Psychologists are on the Ordine degli Psicologi regional register (e.g. Ordine Lazio: https://ordinepsicologilazio.it/; Ordine Lombardia); psychiatrists on the Federazione Nazionale degli Ordini dei Medici (FNOMCeO). The 2022 Cassazione ord. 9691/2022 Massaro and 2025 ord. 4595/2025 (both already in /case-studies/) define the Italian doctrine: PA is not a clinically validated construct binding on judges and may not be used to disregard the child's stated views.
  • Netherlands (NL): Psychologists are registered in the BIG-register (Wet BIG, https://www.bigregister.nl/) as Klinisch psycholoog or Gezondheidszorgpsycholoog; psychotherapists separately under Wet BIG. The leading Dutch Supreme Court decision Hoge Raad 15 February 2005 ECLI:NL:HR:2005:AR8250 (case-file already in /case-studies/) on contact-withholding remains the doctrinal anchor.
  • Belgium (BE): Psychologists are registered with the Commission des psychologues / Psychologencommissie (https://www.compsy.be/); clinical psychologists/orthopédagogues additionally with the relevant communauté health authority under the 2014/2016 reforms. There is no Belgian appellate ruling that has fully endorsed SAP; the dominant clinical doctrine is mixed.

Cross-references to other antialienate-knowledge directories: - Wilfrid von Boch-Galhau, MD (Germany), Asunción Tejedor Huerta, PhD (Spain) and Sietske Dijkstra, PhD (Netherlands) already have full entries in /influencers/. Practitioner-level operational detail (current practice address, regulatory status, recent activity) is added here; they remain primary entries in the influencer set. - US-based PASG core (William Bernet, Amy Baker, Richard Warshak, Linda Gottlieb) — full entries in /practitioners-us-therapists.md. Verrocchio (IT) and Tejedor (ES) are the principal European co-authors with Baker / Bernet. - Canada — Hubert Van Gijseghem (PhD, Université de Montréal, ret.) is Belgian-born / Quebec-practising; full entry is held in /practitioners-ca-therapists.md (cross-listed at end of FR section for completeness because his French-language publications form much of the francophone recognition literature).

3. Prof Dr Ursula Gresser

  • Country / city: DE / Munich (Bavaria)
  • Practice / affiliation: Private practice for medical-scientific expert assessments, Munich (since 2009); previously Internistin / Rheumatologin with own practice 1999-2009; former senior physician, Medizinische Poliklinik und Rheumatologie, LMU München (1984-1996); former medical director, Springer-Verlag Heidelberg (1996-1998); academic supervisor of dissertations at LMU München (https://edoc.ub.uni-muenchen.de/view/gutachter/Gresser=3AUrsula=3A=3A.html)

  • Registration number: not publicly displayed
  • Specialty: Internal medicine / rheumatology; medical-scientific expert reports (Gutachten); secondary research focus on long-term somatic and psychiatric health consequences for children of contact-rupture (Kontaktabbruch) to a biological parent — i.e. PA framed as a public-health problem rather than a forensic-psychological construct
  • Stance: recognition (public-health framing)
  • Stance source: Gresser (2015) Macht Kontaktabbruch zu den leiblichen Eltern Kinder krank? Eine Literaturanalyse, NZFam 2015, S. 989 ff. — discussion https://www.buerokratischer-kindes-missbrauch.de/home/wissenschaftliche-basis-bkm-drei-mal-schlimmer-als-der-tod/gresser-studie/ ; Archeviva interview http://www.archeviva.com/kooperationen/offener-bereich/gresser-prof-dr-ursula/weltweite-studien-ueber-gesundheitliche-folgen-fuer-kid-eke-pas-kinder/ ; Vaeternotruf summary https://www.vaeternotruf.de/kontaktabbruch.htm

  • Primary contact: Contact form / address via https://www.ursula-gresser.de/ (Munich)
  • Tier: 2
  • Hook: The German PA-recognition camp's principal public-health-evidence voice — useful precisely because she is not a psychiatrist or psychologist and frames the issue in somatic-morbidity and mortality data. Cite when responding to "PA is not a real diagnosis" lines.
  • Notes: Gresser's work is contested by mainstream German psychiatry (see e.g. the 2023 BVerfG order's caution on PA framing). Use as evidence of somatic risk not as a forensic diagnosis.

  • Tier: 3
  • Hook: Cite his 2002 Ärzteblatt warning when documenting how PA-recognition camp itself warned against professional capture — useful for showing the recognition camp is not monolithic.
  • Notes: Current activity / retirement status not publicly confirmed. Treat as historical-literature contributor.

Excluded — Germany

  • Werner Bartens (Süddeutsche Zeitung science editor, MD): verified as a science journalist and qualified physician (https://werner-bartens.de/lebenslauf/) but not a practising psychiatrist / psychotherapist and no specific PA-clinical publication confirmed. Belongs in a journalists / commentators list, not the practitioner directory. Excluded here for category fit.

  • Notes: Not BIG-registered as a clinical psychologist — operates as researcher / trainer / coach, which the practice site explicitly states. That positioning is part of why she is treated as a middle-camp bridge rather than as a treating clinician.

  • Notes: Long career; PA-specific peer-reviewed publication record is thinner than van Lawick's — Tier 2 reflects that.

  • Notes: UU press line "bitter divorces have limited influence on quality of children's lives" is a clean counterpoint to PA-catastrophising; cite carefully.

  • Liesbet Nieuwenhuys — no confirmed Belgian Commission des psychologues entry and no PA-relevant publication or family-law professional profile found under that exact spelling. Excluded as not publicly verifiable; request a more specific identifier (city, Commission psychologues number, publication) before re-including.
  • Marc Lormans — no Belgian register entry, publication or named press coverage found connecting a "Marc Lormans" to parental alienation or family-court practice. Excluded as not publicly verifiable.

Honest gaps: - Germany: No critique-camp practising German clinician verified at directory standard in this batch — the German critique tradition runs predominantly through legal academics (e.g. von Hippel) and feminist NGOs rather than named clinicians; a follow-up pass on the DGPPN / DGfPI is needed. - France: Berger is the sole verified critique-camp clinician at Tier 1; a follow-up pass on FENAMEF / Fondation pour l'Enfance evaluators would help. - Italy: Zero critique-camp clinicians at directory standard — the Italian critique runs through the Cassazione case-law itself (Massaro 2022; ord. 4595/2025 — both in /case-studies/) and through legal scholarship, not through named treating clinicians who have published on the topic. This is a structural finding, not a research gap. - Belgium: Only one entry verified to directory standard. The Belgian field is structurally small; the working population on this topic is mostly francophone mediation / academic — a follow-up pass on Femmes de Droit, Yapaka (https://www.yapaka.be/sites/yapaka.be/files/actualite/_alie_nation_parentale_rapport_final.pdf) and the Code analysis (https://lacode.be/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Analyse_Lalienation-parentale-un-concept-a-risques-pour-les-enfants-et-leurs-droits_Oct2023.pdf) would help. - Netherlands: No critique-camp clinician at directory standard — the closest is Dijkstra in the middle-camp; the Dutch critique runs through Schadefonds compensation case-law and the Knel-evaluation rather than through named clinicians explicitly opposing the PA frame.

Excluded practitioners with regulatory disclosure: - Werner Bartens (DE) — qualified MD, Süddeutsche Zeitung science editor; not a practising psychiatrist / psychotherapist; belongs in journalists list. - Antonella Boschi (IT) — no Italian Ordine entry or PA publication found under that exact spelling; not publicly verifiable. - Liesbet Nieuwenhuys (BE) — no Belgian Commission des psychologues entry or PA-relevant professional profile found under that exact spelling; not publicly verifiable. - Marc Lormans (BE) — no Belgian register entry, publication or named press coverage found; not publicly verifiable.

All four are excluded pending a more specific identifier (Ordine / chamber number, named publication, institutional affiliation). If the brief intended different individuals than the search returned, please supply additional context.
