Finland — Marriage Act 234/1929 + Child Custody and Right of Access Act 361/1983
TL;DR¶
Finland's family-law framework comprises the Marriage Act 234/1929 (amended extensively) plus the Child Custody and Right of Access Act 361/1983 (Laki lapsen huollosta ja tapaamisoikeudesta). Joint custody is the strong post-divorce default. 2019 reform strengthened shared-residence framework. Hague 1980 (1994) + Hague 1996 (2011) + Brussels IIb. Nordic Cooperation Convention framework simplifies bilateral with Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland.
